This program is for teens and tweens in grades 7-12. It is held once a month on a Tuesday evening from 6-7pm. Each month is a different activity. The programs range from crafts and theater to robots and slime.
Teen Advisory Board
The board meets one Tuesday evening a month from 6-7pm. The board helps to plan future programs, brainstorm on how to reach out to the community, and give input on materials in the library’s Young Adult collection. Members will also have the opportunities to get volunteer hours.Board members must be high school students aged 14-18. Teens must complete an application in order to be considered for the board. The Children's Department of the Hazleton Area Public Library accepts volunteers to help with our annual Summer Learning Program. Volunteers are asked to spend two hours per week helping to cut out crafts, assist at programs, or other duties as needed.
Volunteers must be 14 years of age by June 1 to be eligible. To receive more information, please contact the Children's Department at 570-454-2961. Only a limited number of volunteers will be accepted.

We have a Young Adult book section located on the library’s lower level. The collection includes both fiction and non-fiction titles.
