NEPA Paranormal
NEPA Paranormal Investigators will be at the library this Thursdayat 6:00. The group will be presenting on the group's history, interesting cases and investigations, and will even share some evidence gathered from cases. The group has been featured on Animal Planet’s The Haunted and an episode of the Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures. This program is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome to attend. Tech-Time
The library will be hosting its monthly drop in, tech-time tutoring sessions this month on Wednesday, October 9 from 6:00-7:00. One of our knowledgeable staff members will be available downstairs in the reference department, ready to answer your questions. This program is free and open to the public. Please bring any mobile devices you have questions about with you. No reservations are required as this is a drop in event. Documentary Screening
The Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting Craig Dudnick of Imagine Video, the filmmaker and creator of the documentary Alice’s Ordinary People for a screening and Q&A on Thursday October 10 at 6:00. This documentary covers five decades of fearless civil rights activism, shown through the eyes & experiences of one of its fearless leaders, Alice Tregay. This program is free and open to the public; all ages are welcome to attend. Diabetes Management


Iris Delgado, local Community Health Navigator with AmeriHealth Caritas will be at the library Tuesday, October 15 at 6:00 presenting on Diabetes Management. This adult program takes place in the Community Room (Green Street Entrance). It is free and open to the public. Registration is required. To do so, visit or call the library at 570-454-2961. Refreshments will be provided.

Hazy Painters
For the month of October HAPL’s Hazy Painters will be redesigning in paint, on canvas, Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This family friendly program is free and open to the public and takes place Saturday, October 19 at 1:30 in the Community Room (Green Street Entrance). Family Storytime
On Saturday, October 12 from 10:00-10:45, we invite families to join us for stories and activities that will help you bond as a family while improving reading and social skills. Registration is required, and can be done by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

Fall Storytime
Fall Toddler and Preschool Storytimes begin Wednesday, September 25 and will last for six weeks. Toddler Storytime, for children currently ages 2 and 3, is on Wednesdays at 10:00. Toddlers must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Preschool Storytime, for children ages 4-5, is on Wednesdays at 6:00. Preschool Storytime incorporates many facets of early learning and school readiness. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

Little Learners
This program is for children in kindergarten–2nd grade. The program takes place tonight from 6:00-7:00. Children will learn about different topics and concepts through stories, activities, playtime, and crafts. Registration is required and can be made by contacting the library's Children's Department at 570-454-2961.

Explorer Club: Theater
This group meets once a month and is for students in grades 3-6. Each month we explore a different topic with hands-on activities and games. Our next program takes place on Tuesday, October 8 from 6:00-7:00 and we will be exploring the world of theater. Registration is required, and can be done by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

October Lap-Sit Baby and Me
On Saturday, October 19, begin your baby’s love of learning with stories, fingerplays, lap bounces, and songs. Older siblings may join. The program begins at 10:00 and lasts 45 minutes. Registration is required and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. 

Spooky STEAM
On Monday, October 14 from 6:00-7:00, Rich Angelo will present some chilling science experiments for our STEAM program. This program is for students in grades 4-8. Registration begins today. Please contact the library by calling 570-454-2961 to register.

Teen Time: Werewolf Escape Room
On Tuesday, October 22 from 6:00-7:00, students in grades 7-12 can try to solve the library’s werewolf-themed escape room. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Monday, October 7.
