Computer 101
The library will be having a Computer 101 program on Tuesday at 10:00. This program is for adults, those with little to no computer skills who would like to learn more about computers. Topics of instruction will include using a mouse and keyboard, searching the internet, and writing a letter using a word processor. This program will be held in the reference department of the library. Registrations are required as space is limited. Registrations can be made by calling the library's reference department at 570-454-2961. The last day to register is today. Ask for Jeff if there are any other questions about the program.

Family Film Night
The Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting a family film night Wednesday, September 11 at 6:00 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance) of the library. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided. If interested, visit or call the library for the title of the film. Registration is required, visit or call the library to register.

Decoupage Keepsake Box Craft
On Tuesday, September 17 the Hazleton Area Public Library will be having an adult craft class creating decoupage keepsake boxes. There is no cost and no experience necessary. Supplies will be provided by the library. Please feel free to bring any paper clippings that you may find inspirational to the class. This craft can get a bit messy; please wear comfortable clothes. Class will start at 6:00 in the Community Room. Please use the Green Street entrance. Registration is required as space is limited. Please contact the library’s reference desk in person or by phone at 570-454-2961 to sign up. Last day to register is Friday, September 13.

The One with the Trivia Night
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Friends TV premiere on September 22, the Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting a Friends Trivia Night on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:00 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance). Registration is required as space is limited. To register, visit or call the library at 570-454-2961. This family friendly event is open to the public. Come one and all as teams of up to 5 people are welcome. Don't have a team? We will fit you in with teams with less than 5 people on them. Bring your family, friends, co-workers, etc. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Questions about the program can be directed to Jeff.

Hazy Painters
In celebration of Stephen King’s birthday on September 21, HAPL’s Hazy Painters will be able to redesign ANY work of the critically acclaimed “Master of Horror”. Copies of his works will be available for inspiration. Registration is required for this family friendly program. To register, visit or call the library at 570-454-2961. Last day to register is Thursday, September 19. All nessary supplies are provided, including paint and canvas. Space is limited. Snacks and refreshments provided.

Family Storytime
On Saturday, September 14 from 10:00-10:45, we invite families to join us for stories and activities that will help you bond as a family while improving reading and social skills. Registration is required, and can be done by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

Fall Storytime
Fall Toddler and Preschool Storytimes begin Wednesday, September 25 and will last for six weeks. Toddler Storytime, for children currently ages 2 and 3, is on Wednesdays at 10:00. Toddlers must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Preschool Storytime, for children ages 4-5, is on Wednesdays at 6:00. Preschool Storytime incorporates many facets of early learning and school readiness. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Monday, September 16.

Little Learners
This program is for children in kindergarten–2nd grade. The next program will take place Monday, September 30 from 6:00-7:00. Children will learn about different topics and concepts through stories, activities, playtime, and crafts. Registration is required and can be made by contacting the library's Children's Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Monday, September 16.

Explorer Club
This group meets once a month and is for students in grades 3-6. Each month we explore a different topic with hands-on activities and games. Our first program takes place on Tuesday, September 10 from 6:00-7:00, and we will be exploring the oceans. Registration is required, and can be done by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

STEAM: Slime
Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join us as we make slime on Monday, September 16. Registration is required, and can be done by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.

Teen Time: Bad Art
Teens in grades 7-12 will have fun painting their own versions of famous works, and we’ll see who can do it the worst. The program takes place on Tuesday, September 24. Registration begins today. Please contact the library’s children’s department at 570-454-2961 to sign up.

Adulting 101: Sewing
Join us on Thursday, September 19 from 6:00-7:00 to learn simple sewing by hand. The minimum age to attend is 14, and you must register by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961.
