The library will be hosting a drop in, tech-time tutoring session on Wednesday, September 4 from 6:00-7:00. One of our knowledgeable staff members will be available downstairs in the reference department, ready to answer your questions. This program is free and open to the public. Please bring any mobile devices you have questions about with you. No reservations are required as this is a drop in event. We all have a story to tell; start writing yours now. This monthly workshop focuses on generating new material in a supportive environment. Prompts will be provided, but feel free to write anything you want. Participants are invited to read their writing aloud; share as much or little as you want. Feedback and comments concentrate on what is strong and good about the work. All genres-fiction, poetry, memoir, etc.- and any experience level welcome; even if you don't consider yourself a writer. This workshop takes place Sat, September 7th at 1:00 pm in the Community Room. Use the Green Street entrance. The library will be having a Computer 101 program on Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00. This program is for adults, those with little to no computer skills who would like to learn more about computers. Topics of instruction will include using a mouse and keyboard, searching the internet, and writing a letter using a word processor. This program will be held in the reference department of the library. Registrations are required as space is limited. Registrations can be made by calling the library's reference department at 570-454-2961. The last day to register is Monday, July 22. Ask for Jeff if there are any other questions about the program.
Family Film Night
The Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting a family film night Wednesday, Sepember 11 at 6:00 in the Community Room (Green Street entrance) of the library. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided. If interested, visit or call the library for the title of the film. Registration is required - visit or call the library to register.
Decoupage Keepsake Box Craft
On Tuesday, September 17 the Hazleton Area Public Library will be having an adult craft class creating decoupage keepsake boxes. There is no cost and no experience necessary. Supplies will be provided by the library. Please feel free to bring any paper clippings that you may find inspirational to the class. This craft can get a bit messy, so please wear comfortable clothes. Class will start at 6:00 in the Community Room. Please use the Green Street entrance. Registration is required as space is limited. The One with the Trivia Night
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Friends TV premiere on September 22, the Hazleton Area Public Library will be hosting a Friends Trivia Night on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:00 in the Community Room (Green Street Entrance). Registration is required as space is limited. To register, visit or call the library at 570-454-2961. This family friendly event is open to the public. Come one and all as teams of up to 5 people are welcome. Don't have a team? We will fit you in with teams with less than 5 people on them. Lap-sit Baby and Me
Begin your baby’s love of learning with stories, fingerplays, lap bounces, and songs. This program is for adults and their babies ages birth to 23 months, and we meet once a month. Older siblings may join, too. Our first program takes place Saturday, September 7 from 10:00-10:45. Fall Toddler and Preschool Storytimes begin Wednesday, September 25 and will last for six weeks. Toddler Storytime, for children currently ages 2 and 3, is on Wednesdays at 10:00. Toddlers must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Preschool Storytime, for children ages 4-5, is on Wednesdays at 6:00. This program is for children in kindergarten–2nd grade. The next program will take place Monday, September 30 from 6:00-7:00. Children will learn about different topics and concepts through stories, activities, playtime, and crafts. This group meets once a month and is for students in grades 3-6. Each month we explore a different topic with hands-on activities and games. Teen Time: Bad Art

Adulting 101: Sewing
