Retirement Income: Making Your Income and Retirement Resources Last
This adult program, the first of three in our winter financial program series will take place on tomorrow, Jan 29th at 12:00 in the library's community room. The other programs in this series will involve college planning and healthcare in retirement, both taking place at later dates. Michael J. Oresick Jr. CFP, of Lagana Wealth Advisory Group at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC will be here to talk to those looking to learn more about what financial resources they have access to as they begin to plan for retirement, and how to make their retirement income last. Registrations for this program are required and can be made by visiting or calling the library's reference department at 570-454-2961. The last day to register is Monday, January 28th. Please note that each of the three programs in the winter financial program series are independent of one another. Signing up for one does not require attendance at the others, only the programs one is interested in.

Tech-Time
Do you have questions about, or need help with your mobile technology? The library will be hosting a drop in, tech-time tutoring session on Wed, Feb 6th from 6:00-7:00.. One of our knowledgeable staff members will be available downstairs in the reference department, ready to answer your questions. This program is free and open to the public. No reservations are required as this is a drop in event. For any questions about the program, call the reference department of the library at 570-454-2961, and ask for Jeff.

Writing Workshop Adults & Teens 16+
Join us at the Hazleton Area Public library on Sat, Feb 9th from 1:00–2:30 for a workshop focused on generating new material in a positive and supportive environment. All genres-fiction, poetry, memoir, etc.- and any experience level welcome; even if you don't consider yourself a writer. Explore your creative side and receive helpful feedback, responses focus on what is strong and good about the work. Prompts will be provided, but feel free to follow your own inspiration. Participants can read their work aloud; share as much or little as you want. The workshop takes place in the Community Room; use the Green Street entrance. Valentine’s Day Card Craft -  Adults & Teens 16+
Wed, Feb 13th (6:00-7:30). Come and join us at the Hazleton Area Public Library to craft a Valentine's Day Card. There will be two designs to pick from. Come out and create your own customized card for that special someone.This program is free and open to the public and will take place in the Community Room. Registration is required. College Planning

The last program in this series will involve healthcare in retirement, taking place at a later date. Michael J. E.Z. Listening! Jazz
The Hazleton Area Public Library is thrilled to announce that the library will be hosting local jazz trio “E.Z. Listening!” for an evening jazz concert. This program is free and open to the public and will take place on Wed, Feb 27th at 6:00. Registration is required and can be made by visiting or calling the reference department of the library at 570-454-2961. Space is limited. The last day to register is Mon, Feb 25th. Refreshments will be provided. 

Little Learners
Monday, February 18th, the library will be offering a program for children in Kindergarten- 3rd grade from 6:00-7:00. Children will learn about different topics and concepts through stories, activities, playtime, and crafts. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Monday, February 4th.

Teen Time: Chinese Calligraphy
Join us on Tuesday, February 19th from 6:00-7:30 as Mark R. Reinhart, owner and instructor at the Three Pure Rivers Studio, teaches the basics of Chinese Calligraphy. This free program is for teens in grades 7-12. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children's Department at 570-454-2961. Registration begins Monday, February 4th.

Lap-sit Baby and Me
The next Lap-sit Program will take place on Thursday, February 7th at 10:30. The program is for children ages birth to 23 months. It involves stories, fingerplays, lap bounces, and songs. Registration is required, and can be made by contacting the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961. 

STEAM
In our STEAM program, children in grades 4-8 will experiment with different forms of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math with fun activities. Join us on Monday, February 4th from 6:00-7:00. This month we will be experimenting with basic coding using very simple robotics.  We will be using toys such as Dash and Dot, Rover and Sphero. Registration begins today, and is required.  Please contact the library’s Children’s Department at 570-454-2961 to sign up.

Hello Everybody Children’s Music Program
Join us on Saturday, February 9th from 10:00-11:00 for a music-filled program. This interactive event is for children (age 0-5 ) and their grownup who want to explore the power of music in early life.Did you know that music supports all learning? Marina Kuchar, Center Director of Tree Of Life Music Together, will be bringing the latest research about child’s development with music. We will have lots of fun and joy playing, singing, jamming music instruments and making music together.Seats are limited.
