Foundation Center
(NY) Created by the Foundation Center. This site has links to many private
and community foundations, corporate funders, and federal programs.
Internet Non-Profit Center
With a non-profit locator, non-profit FAQ's, current online news, and a non-profit
library.
Non Profit Times
This site provides current news and information about the non-profit world.
You can submit questions.
Guide Star
GuideStar is a searchable database of more than 640,000 non-profit organizations in the United States. Type a name in the Charity Search box or use the
Advanced Search to find a charity by subject, state, zip code, or other
criteria.
National Science Foundation
A weekly listing of the latest publications and programs available is
found under "News of Interest." Program deadlines and a search feature
are located under "Info and Pubs."
National Institutes of Health
(NIH) Click on "Grants and Contracts" for information about NIH grant and
fellowship programs, applying for grants or fellowships, etc. Search for
NIH grants over the last 6 weeks or from January 1992 to the present and
retrieve full texts of Requests for Applications (RFA's).
Community of Science
(COS) Provides a searchable funding opportunities database.
Federal Register
and
Commerce Business Daily can also be searched.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
(CFDA) Provides a searchable index to CFDA, which contains all federally
sponsored programs (programs do not necessarily have current funding cycles).
Federal Register
(FR) A daily publication where new federal grant programs and guidelines
are announced. The database is searchable from 1995+.
The Chronicle of Philanthropy
The newspaper of the non-profit world. Published every other week, it is
a good news source for charity leaders, fund raisers, grant makers, and
other people involved in the philanthropic enterprise.
Council Online
Created by the Council on Foundations in Washington D.C., this site gives
links to grantmakers, non-profits,and other resources. It also has links
to key legislation.
Idealist
This site compiles resources available on the Internet and arranges them
by topic and geographic location. The non-profit directory can be searched
by keyword. The site also includes tools for non-profits and links to appropriate
tax forms (Adobe Acrobat required for the tax forms).
